Care and rigor in the whole process
Mas Doix Estate Vineyards are an ideal terroir for growing superb wine grapes. The properties of the sloped vineyards, with licorella slate soil and vine-stocks between 70 and 105 years, guarantees us the availability of a reduced, but excellent, raw material (400 gr. by stock). The passion and the constancy, during the last 90 years, of the Doix family have made possible the conservation of the vines that today are our main quality assurance. At the present time, we have 15 ha. of our own vineyards,
Doix estate (4 ha.) of Cariñena vines planted in 1902 (107 years old) and Garnachas (80 years old); Salanques estate (3 ha) also plated with Garnachas and Cariñenas; Les Crestes (3 ha.) planted with Garnacha; Mas de l'Osso (3 Ha.) planted with Garnacha, Syrah and Merlot; Els Ullastres (1 ha.) Old Cariñenas and La Venteta estate (1 ha.) planted with Cabernet Sauvignon.
Since 1999, we have another 4 ha. of grape growers in the area, using exclusively sloped, old vines of Garnacha and Cariñena. All the properties are located at an altitude of between 350 and 600 m.
The Village of POBOLEDA
Geographically Poboleda is located in the North Eastern sector of the Priorat. It is protected by 2 natural barriers, the Montsant (facing North West), and the Serra del Mollo (facing South East). Being close to both barriers, Poboleda can take advantage of the colder breeze that arrives from the North East thus cooling the entire Poboleda valley. This lower temperature results in a later harvest and also later and longer maturation process.
