Les Crestes /2011

Fruity, fresh and expressive. A genuine young and delicious Priorat wine.


  • GRAPE VARIETIES: 80% Grenache, 10% Carignan, 10% Syrah
  • SOILS & VINES: Les Crestes vineyards are situated at a height of 400 meters above sea level on hillsides of pronounced slopes, with the characteristic slate soil called "licorella". A third of the grapes comes from vineyards of more than 50 years old, and the rest comes from vineyards with an average of 15/20 years old.
  • VINTAGE AND CLIMATE: Cold Winter. Rainy spring. A cool July with a hot August, particularly at nights. A shorter ripening process where selection of grapes was a “must” .Early harvest beginning September.
  • AGEING: Grape selection in vineyards, and at the winery grape entry, with two consecutive table selection. Fermentation in small tank size of stainless steel, at controlled temperature of 26 ºC, with a total maceration period of 18 days. Aging of 10 months in French oak (very thin grain).
