The Wine Advocate #227 - Oct. 2016 – 93pts

The 2013 Salanques is a blend of old-vine Garnacha (65%) and Cariñena (25%) and young-ish Syrah (10%) fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts and matured in 50/50 new and second use French oak barrels. This has the complexity, depth and concentration of the top wines from many wineries. It's not particularly powerful, on the contrary, it is built on elegance and balance, with fresh aromas and a refined palate. It has clean, focused and pure aromas and flavors with very good acidity and very fine tannins. This is just great. 16,000 bottles were filled in April 2015.

Decanter World Wine Awards 2016  92/100pts - Silver Medal

Complex aromas of polished oak, cream and garrigue dominate the nose. The palate bursts with character in the form of dense black fruits, smoky wood, pepper and very fine tannins.

Elmundovino.com -   4.06.2016 - 16.50/20pts

Wilted roses, balsamic, smoky on the nose. Fine, medium bodied, with “terroir”, slightly austere, but with elegance and distinction. It has a bright future.

Elvi.net -   27th March, 2016 - 92+pts

Intense purplish red color, very bright purple trim, medium-high layer and thin, well stained tear. Notable intense aromas of ripe and fresh red fruit on the nose with hints of raspberries, red currants and red cranberries, soft toasted oak, fresh balsam, mountain herbs (thyme), red peppercorns, feelings of red fruit and cherry candy, soft and fresh minerality (licorella) that is intermingled with hints of fresh schist. Good attack on the palate with a fresh and pleasant astringency, good medium-bodied course, with amplitude and a strong nerve that gives character and punchy, ripe red fruit and very tasty, the toasted oak are well marked and somewhat hard, rough tannins, powerful but it shows a narrow, lightweight profile, good intensity and great persistence. Rather long final aftertaste of ripe and slightly licorice red fruit and smoked and mineral aftertaste. A great vintage, punchy and strong.

Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media, Dec 2015–Jan 2016 - 92pts

An assertive bouquet; scents of ripe dark berries, violet, incense and smoky minerals are joined by a zesty allspice nuance. Offers palate-staining blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter and more lively with air. The long, sappy finish shows excellent clarity and mineral cut, with sneaky tannins and a strong echo of vibrant dark fruit.
